The story of my wallet
Mr.Mrs.Leather began five years back (2014), when for the first time I have tried to sew a new leather wallet. My old favorite handmade wallet broke apart after ten years of serving me greatly, and I have realized that I had to have one like that again.
Several days and tens of stores later, I came to find out that the design that I desire is not available for sale anywhere and my only option was to place an order for unique design creation in handmade leather shop.
To me, somehow, this didn’t feel right…none of the leather shops that I came about, I have actually liked and It almost felt like I am looking for something else.
One morning I woke up with a strong insight that taught me that I had to try and sew that wallet by myself. A few days later, after running this idea through my head, I had started my research. Purchased basic tools and materials, watched few online tutorials and immediately created my first leather piece. It was an epic fail, my wallet looked nothing like the one I wanted, and sewing wasn’t as easy as it looked.
I kept trying and failing, but wouldn’t give up this idea. After hundreds of hours of work, I have decided to go and study offline to get my skill upgraded to the next level, and that’s when real fun times began. I have learned different techniques and styles visiting online and offline training programs ran by the best international leather masters, and until now I’ve never stopped learning… Purchased highest quality raw materials that I could possibly find on leather market and started creating.
Pretty soon I have remembered how much I appreciate crafting since childhood and realized that creation of beautiful art pieces is my favorite state in this world.
I was sewing wallets, handbags, purses and belts for my friends and family, playing with different materials and techniques. Next thing I knew there was my first client…then second, then third and so on…by the word of mouth quite a few people have found out about me and that’s how Mr.Mrs.Leather have formed as a company.
Today Mr.Mrs.Leather is ran by small, but incredibly talented team of Leather craft master, Technical support agent and consulting designer.
